Inpatient Hospice Care
Hospice care revolves around choice, and where a patient chooses to receive care is an important first decision to be made by the patient in consultation with their physician and family. Hospice care is frequently provided in the home setting.
For those times, however, when around-the-clock care is required, and care within the home is not possible, Providence TrinityCare Hospice has created a unique inpatient hospice service at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance in order to provide the same compassionate care a patient would receive at home within the hospital environment. Combined with the palliative care services provided at each of the Providence medical centers in the South Bay and Valley communities, patients and their loved ones can rest assured that their pain will be managed as best as possible, and that they will receive compassionate end-of-life care.
Providence TrinityCare Hospice Services at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance
In partnership with Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance, Providence TrinityCare Hospice has opened three dedicated hospice suites in the Medical Center's Transitional Care Center. Through the generous support of Jacqueline M. Glass, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Providence TrinityCare Hospice Foundation and the solid collaboration between Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance and Providence TrinityCare Hospice, these suites will provide excellent care to our patients at a time of great need.
The suites are private rooms newly remodeled and outfitted specifically for Providence TrinityCare Hospice patients and their families who require a higher level of skilled care to manage pain and symptoms. They provide a warm and caring environment for both the patient and family and have sleep sofas for family members to stay with their loved ones.
