October 10, 2013
Friends old and new recently celebrated the 23rd Annual Sunday by the Sea Food and Wine Tasting Gala, presented by City National Bank, in Palos Verdes Estates at the elegant seaside estate of Carolyn and Julian Elliott. The annual event raised over $200,000 (net) to support the programs and services of Providence TrinityCare Hospice and its pediatric palliative care and hospice program, TrinityKids Care. Over 60 premier restaurants, wineries and beverage purveyors from Southern California tempted guests with delicious morsels and fabulous libations. Over 900 guests sampled fabulous food and wine, bid on auction items and had the opportunity to win a Hawaiian get-away.
“Providence TrinityCare has had quite a remarkable year. Our programs are growing and the need is great. We are especially grateful to our sponsors, restaurants, wineries and the community for joining in our efforts to care for adults and children,” said Barbara Roberts, Vice-President, Development/Executive Director, Providence TrinityCare Hospice Foundation. “We cannot do this great work without the tremendous support from the community,” she added.
Providence TrinityCare Hospice is one of the oldest and largest not-for-profit hospices in Southern California, providing comfort and care to adults and children with life-limiting illnesses. Proceeds from this event directly benefit the programs of Providence TrinityCare Hospice such as: Patient Care Assistance, TrinityKids Care (the only dedicated pediatric program for infants and children in the region) Necessities of Life, the Palliative Care Institute, and The Gathering Place, our bereavement support service.
