In the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance Emergency Department, all of our radiology studies are digital and can be accessed by our physicians on our hospital wide Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS). Digital images are vastly superior in quality to conventional X-rays and allow for a much higher diagnostic accuracy.
Our Emergency Department has three dedicated stations where you and your physicians can review all X-rays, CAT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs. Our innovative systems allow all previous studies taken at either of the Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Centers in Torrance or San Pedro and outpatient facilities such as Del Amo Diagnostic Center and the Women's Imaging Center to be accessed and compared to new created images taken in the Emergency Department.
Many Specialists who may consult on a patient's case, for example, orthopedic physicians or neurosurgeons, now have the convenience of reviewing X-rays and scans via the internet to help with diagnosis and treatment. Our emergency physicians, radiologists, and specialists can simultaneously see and access any radiologic study to help expedite a patient's emergency experience in the most efficient and appropriate manner. At the patient's request, we can provide copies of any X-ray, CAT scan, Ultrasound or MRI on a CD for your records, or for you to take to your own physician.
