Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
MRI is an advanced, state-of-the-art digital imaging method, which produces very clear pictures of images of the human body without the use of x-rays. A powerful, but harmless magnetic field and radio waves, similar to what transmits your favorite FM music, are combined to produce detailed images of body structures, such as the spine, brain and other organs.
Our board-certified radiologists have special training in neurology, vascular, pediatrics, musculoskeletal disorders, orthopedics, breast and cardiac imaging and will review dozens of images in order to make their diagnosis.
Pediatrics and Sedation
MRI is a very advanced medical technique and in most cases requires the patient to lie still anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. This can be challenging for children, so with your doctor’s prescription, sedation is available for pediatric patients, which is performed under the supervision of our pediatric intensivist and nurse.
