Prehabilitation

Our team at the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement strongly recommends preparing and conditioning for surgery 2-4 weeks prior to surgery. Stretching, weight loss, and simple cardiovascular exercises such as elliptical, stationary bicycle, walking, and swimming are good strategies that can enhance and quicken your postoperative recovery. We generally do not recommend prescribed physical therapy prior to surgery due to the possible consumption of insurance coverage that may be need after your surgery.
