Dermatology and Laser Center

Providence Medical Institute’s Dermatology and Laser Center offers both medical dermatology and refined cosmetic services in our Torrance and Manhattan Beach offices. Patricia Yun, MD, a Harvard- and Yale-trained dermatologist and medical director of the Center, leads provides complete skin care for patients of all ages — from skin cancers and psoriasis to eczema and rosacea. Personalized cosmetic treatment and services are available and include Botox®, chemical peels and removal of varicose and spider veins – called sclerotherapy. Every service is administered in a trusted medical setting under physician supervision.

Medical Dermatology

Following an initial dermatologic exam, most skin conditions are treated with a personally tailored plan to meet the patient’s individual needs. For example, acne may require topical medications, oral medications, laser treatment or a combination of the above. Your gender, skin type and severity of condition will determine which treatment is right for you. Other skin conditions may require routine treatments.

Many potentially serious skin problems can be prevented if diagnosed early, including skin cancer, aggressive acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema. Regularly scheduled skin exams provide an opportunity to diagnose other serious illnesses that may first present themselves as skin disorders such as lupus and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
