Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.

Dr. Spooler is an excellent neural surgeon . I had very bad scoliosis. For many years I tryed to have something done, in order to take me out of the constant pain I had been in for years. Dr. Spooler, corrected my scoliosis and the other problems with my back. I would and actually have recommended him to others.

After seeing many Orthopedic & Neurosurgeons since 2011 or original MRI, this was the most positive experience so far. [...] Over all a positive experience.

Dr. Spooler is an outstanding Neurosurgeon in my eyes. He explained everything I was going to have done surgically to my back in a manner that I could definitely understand. He did not sugar coat the procedure but did his best to reassure me that this is the right surgery for me to have. I appreciated how comforting he was and understanding of my fears.

when I say I am likely to recommend this care provider I truly hope I never need to. Dr Spooler performed an emergency spinal cord surgery on me in October 2015. I do not know any other surgeon with regard to my injury.

My surgery was delayed approx. 3 hrs. due to the fact that the wrong equipt. was delivered & when the right equipt. arrived it had to be sterolized.

Dr. Spooler and his nurse [...] are provided some of the best care I've ever received [...]. Both are very responsive and explained my care and condition in a very comprehensive way. I always hear back from [...] the same day if I can't reach her directly. She's also very thorough to ask Dr. Spooler any question that are outside the scope of her immediate understanding. Dr. Spooler has been very patient with my questions (and I always have lots of questions) and explains them with courtesy and respect.

Dr. Spooler preformed the surgery. It is too soon to tell if it was 100% successful. However the pain is not as bad as it was before the surgery.

Doctor was very thorough about my current condition, risks, necessary test far and beyond what other doctors had informed about what I can and cannot do.
