Early in life, Carmel Dorsey was taught TO BE OF SERVICE. She decided there was no better way to manifest that motto than to work in the field of medicine. Her journey began as a Physician Assistant in 1998 and has yet to end.
Carmel's alma mater's mission statement embraces serving the ill and underserved. Her profession has allowed her to do just that and has brought her great satisfaction. The field of Family Medicine has allowed Carmel to form relationships with patients of all age ranges and has given her a sense of balance as a practitioner. Her approach to practicing medicine is simple:listen to your patient, treat them with respect, apply your knowledge to their complaint as best you can, and then listen to the patient again. It is a recipe for success that has worked for many years.
Carmel is married and loves spending time with her husband and two children. She is a native Californian and looks forward to finishing out her career with the Providence/Axminster family.
The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.
