Dr. Chan started her journey into the field of dermatology while studying art history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There she cultivated her skills of visual analysis and pattern recognition, which help her in both diagnosing skin conditions and finessing facial aesthetics during cosmetic procedures. During her residency training she managed a wide breadth of conditions, including complicated cases from outside centers.
She believes strongly in treating each patient as an individual, and in doing so, wishes to improve not only their skin, but their overall quality of life.
She has presented at many academic meetings and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Los Angeles Metropolitan Dermatologic Society and the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Chan enjoys painting, hiking, and travelling the world with her boyfriend and adorable labradoodle, Yogi.
The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.
