Psychiatric Services

Our services include acute (in-patient) psychiatric care, as well as partial hospitalization and outpatient programs. We provide treatment for: Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, sleep disorders, social withdrawal, depression, anxiety, psychosis, malnutrition, or other age related difficulties such as extended and extreme grief over a loss, decline in the ability to care for oneself, etc.

Symptoms often result from grief, social isolation, decline in physical health from lack of physical activity or a medical condition, loss of independence, and fears about the future. These symptoms can include:

  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Loss of interest in regular activities
  • Withdrawal from friends and family
  • Impaired understanding of reality
  • Disorientation
  • Memory changes

Assessment

Individualized assessments for prospective patients are an integral part of our treatment plan. All patients are medically screened prior to admission to provide opportunity for relevant medical problems to be treated, prior to or during their hospital stay. Prospective patients' psychiatric history and current life circumstances are all taken into consideration, and recommendations for the most effective course of treatment are discussed with all concerned. Emergency assessments and interventions are available when the need arises.
