The brain is the final frontier in medicine. It forms the essence of who a person is, controlling memory, learning, consciousness and life itself. Until recently, the brain's complex nature has made it difficult, if not impossible, to treat diseases of the brain, including stroke, cerebral aneurysms, cerebral vasospasms, arterial malformations and dural fistulas, cerebral, carotid or vertebral stenosis, and brain tumors.

At the Neurovascular Center, physicians working in a collaborative setting can now provide leading-edge treatments in the relatively new area of Neuro-interventional Radiology - a discipline that uses minimally-invasive techniques to perform diagnostic and surgical procedures within the delicate blood vessels of the brain and spine using x-ray guidance.
