At the Neurovascular Center, highly specialized, minimally-invasive, endovascular neurosurgical techniques are used to treat the complex diseases and conditions of the brain, including:

  • Stroke
  • Cerebral Aneurysms
  • Cerebral Vasospasm
  • Arterial Malformations (AVMs) and Dural Fistulas
  • Cerebral, Carotid or Vertebral Stenosis
  • Brain Tumors

All procedures are performed in the Center's state-of-the-art angiographic suite in the Imaging Department at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center rather than the operating room. Team members from neurosurgery, neuroradiology and neurology, working with advanced angiographic technology provide optimal results for our patients. Treatment technologies include:

  • Mechanical Endovascular Clot Removal for Stroke
  • Endovascular Coiling and Onyx Embolization of Cerebral Aneurysms
  • Embolization of Cerebral and Spinal Vascular Malformations and Carotid-Cavernous Fistulas
  • Intracranial Stenting
  • Cerebral Angioplasty, especially for Cerebral Vasospasm
  • Direct-puncture Schlerotherapy for Facial/Head & Neck Venous Malformations
  • Preoperative Tumor Embolizations
  • WADA Testing and Balloon Test Occlusions
