Planning your visit

Visitors are VIPs at Providence Saint John’s Health Center and vital to each patient’s recovery and healing process. Please use the following information to plan your visit to Providence Saint John’s.

Visiting hours

Before your visit, please see the special visiting hours below. If you plan to visit after 8:30 p.m., please speak with a caregiver on the patient’s unit to check that the patient can have visitors at that time or determine the best time to visit.


Unit Visiting hours or restrictions
Nursery/NICU

Visits from only selected family members wearing a special wristband.

Visitors are NOT ALLOWED from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and on Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Labor & Delivery Restricted at the discretion of the nursing and medical staff.
Postpartum (Mother & Baby) Visitors NOT ALLOWED from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. to promote parent/newborn bonding.
Critical Care (CCU/ICU)

Children under 12 years are not permitted.
Individual cases are reviewed for exceptions.

Visitors are NOT ALLOWED from 7 to 8:30 a.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. 
Patient Care Units Most patient care areas only allow two visitors at a time. Please, no loitering in the hallways. 
Before 5 a.m. or after 8:30 p.m. for Any Unit
  • Before your visit, please call the unit to let them know of your visit.
  • Please enter using the Emergency Department entrance.

Upon your arrival, Security will call the department to ensure patient's medical care and therapeutic process allow for a visitor.

Visiting restrictions

Our medical teams will ensure that visitations do not interfere with necessary medical care, patient privacy or is disruptive to the patient’s therapeutic process.

Please use your best judgment and do not visit patients if you have a cold, sore throat or any other contagious disease.

Providence Saint John’s will not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability.
