Internal Medicine

The internal medicine physicians at Providence Medical Institute enjoy long-standing relationships with their patients, often providing care to individuals who have health conditions requiring ongoing treatment and oversight, patients with multiple health issues that require additional coordination and collaboration with specialists, and patients who may take various medications requiring additional oversight for potential interactions and monitoring. An Internal Medicine physician can provide care to adults over the age of 18 and are considered a primary care doctor.

Internal medicine physicians have additional training that focuses on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. Internists “care for the whole adult patient” and often sub-specialize or take a clinical interest in various complex illnesses such as hypertension, nervous system disorders, mental health, dermatological care and more. Disease prevention and promoting wellness, including diet and exercise, are an important focus in the lifelong relationship you and your doctor will enjoy.
