Biography

Nirali Vakil, M.D., board-certified pediatrician, knew she wanted to become a physician at a young age. She has always enjoyed helping people. During summer visits to India, she would feel inspired when she watched her uncle provide medical care to his patients. While in medical school, she spent time in India volunteering with different medical camps and working with children. Through this experience she fell in love with the field of pediatrics and knew she had found her calling.

Dr Vakil’s goal is to assist parents in providing the best medical care for their children in a caring environment. She believes in blending western medicine with a touch of holistic medicine to enhance the child’s overall care.

Originally from South Florida, Dr. Vakil currently resides in Manhattan Beach with her husband and two sons. She enjoys spending time with family, hiking, reading and cooking.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.

The provider did not want to listen to my requests regarding future care for my child's condition.

The provider wasn't as perky as the other staff member, but still respectful. Seemed like she was having a long day, but she still was friendly and order my son's shots right away and had them executed quickly.

some miscommunication between provider and nurse assistant on the vaccinations my daughter needed, as well as follow up appointments

Doctor seemed rushed and didn't even talk with our son at all (usually most pediatricians make some effort to talk with the baby/toddler but this doctor didn't even seem to acknowledge our son).

I like this doctor but I felt like we were rushed out. There were two things that were ailing my daughter - but I felt like we were only given time to address one issue. This is the second time I've seen this doctor and I just felt like she had to rush out and couldn't take the time to spend with us. I'd actually gladly pay for two, back to back appointments if that would give us more time to discuss the things on our minds. That probably isn't possible...but if it were, I'd do it.

It felt like I was rushed and wasn't able to ask all the questions I wanted. She also did not address everything on the six month questionnaire.
