Iris received her Nursing Degree from the El Camino College of Nursing Program and practiced as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 33 years where she worked with both Dr. Richey and Dr. Ishimaru.

Practitioners. She is also a disaster health care volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corp of Los Angeles, and speaks Spanish.

Patient Ratings and Comments
About Our Survey

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.

Dr. Ishimaru is a phenomenal provider who always listened to my needs. She consistently put my mind at ease and made me feel confident going into the birth of my first child.

the nurse technician was very unprofessional. I made an appointment to confirm pregnancy, but bc I had taken three tests at home that showed positive she did not think medical confirmation was necessary.

I had a biopsy done during the visit in addition to the routine Pap test. I received the Pap results via My chart and sent Iris a message asking about the biopsy results (if they were separate & still pending). I got a reply via My Chart from the office stating she wasn't in that day to reply but then received a reply from her saying that yes she's still awaiting my biopsy results. then just a bit later I received those results via My Chart with a note from her helping to interpret the results as negative and no need to worry. and she will see me next year. I was so relieved to hear back so promptly.

Nothing. Exceptional clinician and human being.

Dr. [...]'s team is always organized, responsive and caring. Iris kindly let me talk about my healthcare and was very helpful. Dr. [...] responds to me via email punctually which is so convenient for me.

all staff was great

I LOVE Dr. T. She was so patient and was actively listening to all of my concerns and answering all my questions, no matter how silly they seemed to me.

Every time I see Iris Tamashiro, she addresses all my concerns and answers all my questions in full. I feel very comfortable discussing any and all issues with her.

great experience. answered all my questions.

Overall, very good first visit to office as a new patient.

Dr. Iris was fantastic. I was a new patient during this visit after switching from [...]. She took the time to go over my medical history and get to know me more. she made me feel so much more comfortable.

takes forever to see the MD and NP somewhat knowledgable

My issues are with the long wait times and receptionist help.

it was a last minute appointment so I know they fit me in but there was no one in waiting room and I still waited 1/2 hour before I went in exam room and another 15 minutes in there without any explanation from receptionist or NP.

Very respectful and helpful.

This was my first visit to this practice and I will not be going back. Iris did not listen to my concerns/problems, or take into account my medical history. I had to ask for exams and different testing, because she didn't think any of it was necessary. […] She sent my results from my blood lab work through my chart with a note about the results, however she do not explain the results about some of my other tests.

My last visit was a waste of time. And I didn't get answers.

Gave me better answers than the last health care provider I saw previously.

Too much charting on the computer, no eye contact.

She was very patient and informative. She explained everything she was doing during the procedure which made it very easy to relax.
