Born in Santa Monica and raised in West Los Angeles, Dr. Ishimaru is a first generation physician. A family of teachers helped shape her keen interest in educating her patients so they are an informed part of their own healthcare team.
Dr. Ishimaru attended Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science in North Chicago, Ill., and completed both her Internship and Residency at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Respect for each individual's personal and cultural values is pivotal to the care she provides. She welcomes patients of all ages and provides comprehensive care for women's health.
Outside of medicine, her interests include eating out, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Lyndon, and their two children, Lauren and Dylan.
The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed.
