Dr. Gordon was born and raised in New York. Attracted to the connection between communications and life sciences, Dr. Gordon first worked as a genetic counselor before attending medical school. Today, Dr. Gordon is the director of medical genetics and integrative medicine at the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center. She is also an associate professor of medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
As a nationally recognized expert in hereditary cancer, Dr. Gordon is co-author of an award-winning consumer health care book on understanding and managing breast and ovarian cancer risk. Her primary research interests involve the prevention of breast cancer and she has been involved in numerous clinical trials for cancer prevention. Passionate about a holistic approach to health and disease prevention, Dr. Gordon is pursuing a fellowship in integrative medicine. In addition, she is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Genetics.
