Providence Health Magazine
Dr. Chan obtained her Master's in Public Health (MPH) at UCLA prior to medical school and focused her studies on reducing health disparities among underserved populations. She is committed to providing quality healthcare to each individual patient but also appreciates the importance of promoting the health of the community as a whole.
Dr. Chan has found that one of the most rewarding aspects of practicing medicine is being able to develop long lasting relationships with her patients. She considers it a privilege to get to know her patients and their families on such a personal level.
She grew up in Los Angeles and is the youngest child in a large family of nine. Outside of practicing medicine, her interests include cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.
