October 01, 2012
With flu season approaching, Genesa Wagoner, M.D., a pediatrician at the Providence Medical Institute clinic located near Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro, reminds parents to scheduled flu shots for their children. “The flu show protects your kids – and others,” she says.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
- Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual flu vaccine.
- Children younger than 5, adults 65 and older, and pregnant women are at high risk for flu complications.
- Vaccination before December is best.
