Metabolic Syndrome is caused by three factors: poor diet and subsequent overweight/obesity, a lack of adequate physical activity, and in some cases by genetics. The vast majority of people who have Metabolic Syndrome have the ability to reverse it with proper diet and exercise if they take action before it becomes life threatening.
