Providence Medical Institute Santa Clarita Wins U.S. Commerce Association’s 2012 Best of Valencia Award
April 30, 2012
The U.S. Commerce Association this week awarded Providence Medical Institute Santa Clarita its Best of Valencia Award, honoring the family practice medical group and urgent care for quality service to the community.
The announcement marked the fourth consecutive year the former Advanced Medical Care has been honored in the USCA’s 2012 awards physician category. Nationwide, just one in 250 winners of this 2012 award have been honored four years in a row.
“We’re all celebrating because our entire office shares this award,” said Michael Pin, M.D., founder of the practice. “Our goal is to provide our patients with quality care, quickly and efficiently, and everyone contributes to that effort.”
The USCA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies its Board of Review believes have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local communities and business categories. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2012 USCA Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USCA and data provided by third parties.
In 2010, the practice joined Providence Medical Institute, a physician foundation that is part of the Providence Health & Services, Southern California, family of healthcare services. It is composed of two physicians, Dr. Pin, and his associate, Steve Yi, M.D., as well as four physician assistants, Emily Wandel, Jesse De La O, Maryam Younessi and Dalia C. Zahroon.
Providence continues to branch out in the Santa Clarita Valley area, and one goal is to build relationships with outstanding physician practices. With the Providence Holy Cross Health Center in Valencia and the new 138-bed expansion at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in nearby Mission Hills, the nonprofit faith-based Providence is poised to serve the healthcare needs of more and more Santa Clarita area residents with top quality care like that offered by Dr. Pin, Dr. Yi and their team.
Dr. Pin, practicing in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1983, is a board-certified family practitioner, a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and an active member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Dr. Yi also is board-certified in family medicine. He served as a chief resident and was the recipient of the Eldon Berglund award for his academic excellence, educational commitment and abiding concern for the welfare of his patients.
