About Us

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center was founded in 1961 to provide healing and health care to the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Simi valleys.

A 377-bed, not-for-profit facility, the medical center offers both inpatient and outpatient health services, including a state-of-the-art cancer center, a heart center, orthopedics, neurosciences and rehabilitation services, women's and children's services, as well as providing our communities with a Level II Trauma Center.

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, strategically located near the intersections of the 405, 5, 118 and 210 freeways, serves both the North San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys. We offer a full continuum of health care, from inpatient and outpatient services to home health care, health education and community outreach programs.

The talented senior leadership team at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is comprised of experts in the health care industry all of whom have worked in the field for many years. Our leadership team includes experts in health care administration as well as in the clinical setting. Each comes with their own unique set of knowledge and expertise bringing together a dynamic cohesive team; several have been with the Providence Health & Services system for many years and are well respected for their work. Our leadership team members come from a variety of backgrounds, which helps Providence Holy Cross connect with its very diverse population base. In addition to their skills in fiscal responsibility, they have provided key leadership in achieving Magnet Status and receiving multiple awards for excellent patient care. Their leadership is exhibited in our quality and compassionate nursing care, and the overall high quality of performance from our clinicians and supporting staff.

American Nurses Credentialing Center
Magnet recognition

Magnet recognized: American Nurses Credentialing CenterThe Magnet Recognition Program®, an impressive and important designation, brings national recognition to our hospital with a nursing staff that is among the best in the nation. Only the top five percent of the 5,000 hospitals in the United States have received Magnet Status; Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is one of the smallest hospitals in California to receive this distinction and the only Magnet Hospital in the Greater San Fernando Valley.

Our magnet journey continues

Nursing excellence continues to be a major focus at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. And nurses are a key part of our hospital’s decision-making as we manage healthcare reform and its focus on quality, affordability and access.

Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, historically, has a strong culture that provides the ability to adapt to change and move forward with innovative ideas. Shrinking financial resources, regionalization of operations within Providence's Southern California facilities and more regulatory requirements have increased our commitment to patient quality and care.

With the support from our leadership team, we continue to live up to our honor as a Magnet Hospital and our focus on excellent patient care provided by our nurses and physicians.
