The talented senior leadership team at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is comprised of experts in the health care industry all of whom have worked in the field for many years. Our leadership team includes experts in health care administration as well as in the clinical setting. Each comes with their own unique set of knowledge and expertise bringing together a dynamic cohesive team; several have been with the Providence Health & Services system for many years and are well respected for their work. Our leadership team members come from a variety of backgrounds, which helps Providence Holy Cross connect with its very diverse population base. In addition to their skills in fiscal responsibility, they have provided key leadership in achieving Magnet Status and receiving multiple awards for excellent patient care. Bernie Klein - Chief Executive
Dr. Bernie Klein is the Chief Executive at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Dr. Klein has worked with the Providence Health & Services organization for seven years. Prior to his interim position, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Providence Holy Cross where he facilitated and organized resources in support of clinical quality, accreditation, and overall performance improvement/operational excellence.
Dr. Klein is a board certified Internal Medicine physician. He attended medical school at the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School and completed his residency at UCLA/Harbor General Hospital Medical Center. He also completed a one year internal medicine fellowship at the UCLA/West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center. He received his Masters of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
Anna Chiotti - Chief Nursing Officer
Anna Chiotti, a veteran nurse leader, was named Chief Nursing Officer in 2016 for Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, a Catholic not-for-profit hospital ranked among the nation’s best.
Anna brings 30 years of nursing experience to Holy Cross where she will lead a nursing team that has earned the prestigious Magnet Hospital designation. Ann has operational responsibility for Critical Care, Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, Perinatal, Sub-Acute, Emergency Services, Rehabilitation and the Diabetes and Wound/Ostomy Programs. She also oversees the nursing education for new hires, skills fairs, new graduate orientation, certification, critical care classes and other nursing-related education for each nursing unit.
With experience in numerous hospital systems, including Magnet Hospitals, Anna has developed a leadership style that focuses on collaboration, innovation and results. And she has built a reputation for implementing strategic changes to address the ongoing changes in the delivery of quality health care.
Before coming to Providence Holy Cross, Anna served as chief nursing officer and chief operating officer at San Ramon Regional Medical Center and prior to that was associate vice president of nursing for California Pacific Medical Center’s four Bay Area campuses. She earned her registered nurse diploma and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from St. Mary’s College/Samuel Merritt College in Oakland.
