Dr. Dana Tannenbaum is a highly skilled physician surgeon specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery. She completed medical school at McGill University in her hometown of Montreal, Canada, followed by ophthalmology residency at UCSD and glaucoma fellowship at the Jules Stein Eye Institute.
Dr. Tannenbaum has served as a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at UCLA where she taught cataract and glaucoma surgery and was integrally involved in pioneering research of optic nerve imaging techniques for the early diagnosis of glaucoma. She is a consultant for the Optometric Center of Los Angeles and has served on the editorial board for various Ophthalmology publications. She has authored articles in peer-reviewed scholarly journals and textbooks.
Dr. Tannenbaum frequently presents lectures on glaucoma to physicians as well as educational seminars to her patients and the public. She is also called upon to offer her expertise as an expert witness on Ophthalmology issues. Dr. Tannenbaum is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. She is the recipient of both the Compassionate Doctor Recognition Award and Patients Choice Award.
