In his journey to become an oceanographer, family practice physician Victor Reyes, M.D., realized while volunteering at an Emergency Room during college that he'd rather go into medicine. While contributing to the health and well-being of patients and families is what brought him to this career, it's the one-on-one interaction and the long-term relationships he develops that are his favorite part about his practice. For Dr. Reyes, getting to know his patients allows him to take even better care of them.
Dr. Reyes received his medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles and went on to complete an internship and residency in family practice at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Fontana, Calif. He joined Affiliates in Medical Specialties in 1998 after spending 11 years with Community Medical Group. While general primary care is the focus of his practice, he also sees a large number of allergy patients.
Dr. Reyes enjoys gardening (ask him about his varieties of irises) and playing piano, which he just started playing as an adult.
The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety. However, language that may contain profanity, slander, libel or private health information is removed. Comments reflect the views and opinions of patients. Comments are not endorsed by, nor do they necessarily reflect the views of, Providence.
