Dr. Goldfarb (M.D., M.Sc., FACS, FACE ) is a fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon specializing in minimal access surgery for thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and neuroendocrine tumors. She is the Director of the Endocrine Tumor Program at the John Wayne Cancer Institute and Providence Saint John’s Health Center and an assistant professor of surgery. Dr Goldfarb is a graduate of Brown University and completed her surgery training at Beth Israel Deaconess (Harvard Medical School) followed by a fellowship at the University of Miami.
In her first few years in practice, Dr Goldfarb received young-investigator grants from the Children's Oncology Group and USC, and young investigator awards from SWOG and Critical Mass (Young Adult Cancer group). With already over 40 peer-reviewed papers, her personal research focuses on endocrine tumors, secondary malignancies, thyroid ultrasound, health care disparities, AYA cancer, and cancer survivorship. Dr. Goldfarb serves on committees for the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Thyroid Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, the Society for Surgical Oncology and the Association for Women Surgeons.
Dr. Goldfarb believes in the importance of a multidisciplinary, team-based and personalized approach for the treatment of all endocrine tumors. Every patient receives a personalized treatment plan, created together with the patient and physicians.
